The Washington Post announced the appointment of Joy Robins as Chief Revenue Officer. Robins, shown above, will oversee sales divisions that provide a range of innovative solutions for advertisers to reach The Post’s influential readership. She will lead all aspects of advertising including WP BrandStudio’s custom content programs, RED’s cutting-edge ad tech, event sponsorship, video, audio and programmatic. Robins will guide the teams to create the most effective solutions and programs for brand partners. Robins joined The Post after five and a half years at Quartz, most recently serving as Global Chief Revenue Officer. There she led the company to triple-digit growth while holding senior positions including SVP Global Revenue and Strategy and Vice President of Advertising and Strategy.
The American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) hired Kathy King as senior director public affairs, advocacy and media. In her new position, King will work with the advocacy team in the D.C. office promoting and defending the public and management accounting profession’s global public policy agenda. King joins the AICPA from Folio Financial, Inc., in McLean V.A., where she led the fintech firm’s media relations activities. Before that, she served as senior vice president and partner for FleishmanHillard where she co-led its U.S. Financial Services Practice Group and led its D.C Corporate Reputation team. While at FleishmanHillard she provided senior counsel to firms such as EY, State Street Global Advisors and Booz Allen Hamilton.
Carol Kaplan has been named Senior Manager of Communications at the Consumer Federation of America. At CFA, she will be working on national personal finance campaigns involving 2,000 banks, credit unions and government agencies; and setting strategy for digital and traditional communications and media relations. Previously, she was with Kaplan Media Relations.
