People Making News: Linda Bloss-Baum, Allyson Wilson and Jeff Shesol

Linda Bloss-Baum, above, joined SoundExchange as Vice President, Government Relations and Public Affairs.   In this role, Bloss-Baum will represent SoundExchange with critical external audiences, including lawmakers, regulators and industry stakeholders. Bloss-Baum will report to Esther-Mireya Tejeda, Chief Marketing and Communications Officer, SoundExchange.  Prior to her appointment, Bloss-Baum spent eight years serving as a liaison between SoundExchange and artists and industry leaders, most recently in the role of Senior Director, Artist and Industry Relations. That experience positioned her to effectively bring together the creator and policy worlds in search of answers to pressing music business and policy issues. Esrlier, she ran the Warner Music Group office in Washington, D.C., and served as Vice President, Public Policy/Government Relations at Universal Music Group/NBC Universal and Time Warner, Inc.

Allyson Wilson is joining ISC as Communications Director. She is coming to ISC from her position as Director, Digital Strategy and Content Marketing, at the American Chemistry Council where she has been leading the development and implementation of integrated, strategic communications plans supporting the U.S. plastics industry’s work to combat ocean plastic, grow plastics recycling, and increase packaging sustainability. Prior to the ACC,  Wilson was Deputy Communications Director for Terry McAuliffe for Governor of Virginia, and spent 10 years as TV reporter.
Jeff Shesol, a founding partner of D.C.-based West Wing Writers, has authored Mercury Rising, a book described as a riveting history of John Glenn’s orbital flight at America’s “hour of maximum danger.”
