TV One and CLEO TV, based in Silver Spring, MD,  announced that Charnelle Anderson, above, has joined the company as SVP of Marketing & Creatives Services to oversee the strategic development and implementation of all marketing initiatives.  According to a release, Anderson will play a critical role in driving brand awareness and creating cohesive marketing programs that amplify both network’s content offerings across digital, linear and non-linear television platforms.  Prior to joining TV One and CLEO TV, Anderson served as the Head of Marketing, Branding Communications, and Business Partnerships of dfree® Global Foundation Inc., a grassroots nonprofit wealth-building initiative headquartered in Somerset, NJ. Anderson also has served in executive roles at networks including A+E Networks and Lifetime Network..

Jackson State University named Alonda Thomas as its new associate vice president for University Communications as well as its chief communications officer. According to a release, Thomas will be responsible for reputation management, marketing, media relations and strategic communications for the university. She also manages the JSU’s Office of Marketing and Communications and serves as JSU’s spokesperson to its stakeholders.  Prior to joining JSU, which is located in Jackson, Mississippi, Thomas served as director of public relations at Howard University in Washington, D.C.

Personica, a marketing and analytics platform for restaurants that is headquartered in Alexandria, VA,, named Mark Plourde as its Executive Vice President of Sales, Mike Mirkil as its Vice President of Marketing, and Bridget Mackinson as Director of Product Management.
