Peter “Kane” Deibler, host of “The Kane Show” on HOT 99.5 radio in D.C., died “after a long illness,” according to the law firm that represented him, reports WJLA.
According to WJLA: “The Kane Show had for years “been among the DMV’s most-listened-to morning radio programs,” the statement says, “playing the latest hits and popular segments.” It was pulled from the airwaves last spring.
“Kane leaves behind two daughters who were often discussed on his show, Sam and Sophie.
“Although co-hosts, including Sarah Fraser, Samy K, Melanie Glazener, and Danni Starr came and went, Kane remained a constant on the show, which also aired on Top 40 stations in Baltimore, Louisville, and Tampa, and was broadcasted from the iHeartRadio studios located at 1801 Rockville Pike in Rockville.”
He was 43 years old and, according to another report, died of acute respiratory distress syndrome.
