When PBS invited photographer Cade Martin to create something engaging to promote Ridley Scott’s new Civil War production “Mercy Street”, he and his team went to work exploring and transforming the fabrics and colors of the era.
His idea was to create a uniquely textured and modern scene into which he would immerse his period-piece subjects. The final result is a campaign of striking, heroic portraits that promote the rich, multi-layered stories and characters of the series.
According to PBS, inspired by real people and events, “Mercy Street goes beyond the front lines of the Civil War and into the chaotic world of the Mansion House Hospital in Union-occupied Alexandria, Va.”
In addition to many other projects, Cade Martin, a Capitol Communicator sponsor, photographs Capitol Communicator’s “up close and personal” profile series.
