Precision Strategies announced that Henry Connelly, most recently Communications Director for Speaker Nancy Pelosi and a twelve-year veteran congressional staffer, is joining the agency as a Senior Vice President in its communications practice.
Connelly comes to Precision after nine years “as a trusted senior aide to Speaker Nancy Pelosi throughout the high-profile and high-stakes political fights of the last decade. At Precision, Connelly will bring battle-hardened strategic communications experience and political acumen forged at the side of the most powerful and effective Speaker in generations. With his intimate understanding of the dynamics of Congress, national press, and outside stakeholders, Connelly will help clients navigate the increasingly volatile political, policy, and media landscape to achieve their goals,” states the D.C.-based agency.
“Henry has been at the center of some of the hardest fights and the brightest spotlights in recent memory,” said Precision partners Stephanie Cutter, Teddy Goff, and Mike Spahn. “Henry’s extensive experience in the most demanding circumstances and political arenas will provide unique insights for a wide range of clients as they confront challenges both inside the beltway and far outside Washington.”
Before becoming a senior spokesman for the Speaker, Connelly served as Pelosi’s Director of Speechwriting. Over the course of his time in her office, Connelly drafted major ceremonial speeches and live-broadcast, primetime addresses including the announcement of the original impeachment investigation and the Democratic response to President Trump’s Oval Office speech during the 2019 government shutdown standoff.
Prior to his time with Speaker Pelosi, Connelly served with then-Congresswoman Janice Hahn of Los Angeles in a hybrid communications and legislative role — covering a broad range of policy issues and House committee business.
