President-elect Donald Trump has named Karoline Leavitt, who served as the national press secretary for his 2024 campaign, to be his White House Press Secretary when he returns to Washington, D.C., next year, reports TheWrap.

TheWrap adds the 27-year-old previously served as Assistant Press Secretary during Trump’s first term in office. She will be the youngest person to ever hold the position.”

Trump, in a statement announcing his pick, said Leavitt did a “phenomenal job” leading his press team this year.

According to Wikipedia: She previously served as an assistant press secretary and presidential writer during the first Donald Trump administration as well as a spokesperson for MAGA Inc., a pro-Trump Super PAC. In 2022, she ran for the U.S. House of Representatives in New Hampshire’s 1st district, becoming the second member of Generation Z to win a congressional primary. She lost the general election to incumbent Chris Pappas.

Leavitt will be Trump’s fifth White House Press Secretary. During his first administration, Sean Spicer, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, Stephanie Grisham and Kayleigh McEnany all served in the role.
