We’re Down, DC Council, Don’t Put us Under

Dear DC Council,

Nine years ago I was proud to move my company, Capitol Communicator, into DC from Virginia. The proposed advertising and media tax is making me question that decision.

The advertising, media, creative and communications community is really hurting from this pandemic. Did you do any research before considering the proposed taxes on the advertising community? We did in the below survey. More than 5% of the respondents were concerned about going out of business even before this proposed tax. I’m fine with paying the higher taxes for living and having my business in this great city but this proposed tax is punishing. Please, don’t force me to move.
