PRSA Maryland announces ‘Best in Maryland’ winners

The Public Relations Society of America, Maryland chapter recently held its annual “Best in Maryland” awards gala, recognizing individual achievements, campaigns and PR components.

Dave Imre, founder of imre, received the Lifetime Achievement award. Jody Aud, with Dave Imre in main photo, led the nomination and presented the award. Also receiving individual recognition: Paul E. Welsh award: Jessica Fast, Abel Communications; Rising Star: Staff Sergeant Sarah McClanahan, Maryland National Guard; PR Team of the Year: Planit.

“We are extremely proud to be recognized as PRSA’s Best in Maryland PR Team of the Year, and equally so, are thrilled that our work with Sheetz was honored by our peers,” said Matt Doud, president and co-founder of Planit. “These awards reflect the drive, dedication and passion our team brings to the table everyday for each of our clients.”

Crosby Marketing Communications, a Capitol Communicator sponsor, won Best in Show for its work with the Department of Defense’s Military OneSource program, promoting the well-being of active-duty service members and their families across the globe. The Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP) campaign was designed to focus on the unique needs of these families by providing digital tools and outreach that make it easier to access services, while creating a more user-friendly experience. The award is the top public relations honor in the state and is given for the most outstanding work entered in the competition.
