The Maryland chapter of the Public Relations Society of America has issued a call for entries for the annual Best in Maryland awards recognizing the top communications programs and tactics.

PR professionals who have creatively navigated a communications challenge with precision and ingenuity are encouraged to enter any number of categories including: Community Relations; Crisis Communications; Integrated Communications; Pro Bono; Public Service; Social Media and more.

Early bird prices end on Aug. 29. Final deadline is Sep. 12, according to Lisa Coster, who is heading Best in Maryland this year with Dorothy Fuchs.

Members of the PRSA Central California Chapter will serve as judges.

Coster said the chapter is also accepting nominations for Professional Awards, including Lifetime Achievement; Rising Star; PR Team Award; Educator of the Year; and Partner of Distinction. New this year is the Paul E. Welsh Award recognizing PR pros with a minimum of 10 years of experience.

Winners will be announced Dec. 6 at the Best in Maryland Awards Gala, set for the Royal Sonesta Harbor Court in Baltimore. Visit the chapter’s website for additional details.
