The PRSA Maryland Chapter is encouraging nominations for professional awards. According to the chapter, the Professional Awards are a major part of the annual Best in Maryland Awards program and honor new and seasoned PR pros for their individual contributions and successes in the communications industry. The deadline to nominate colleagues is approaching quickly (October 20), but there’s still time to do so.

New this year is the Paul E. Welsh Award, recognizing PR pros with at least 10 years’ experience. Paul E. Welsh, APR, was a long-time PRSA Maryland member and past president of the chapter.  What’s more, he created our state’s nickname “America in Miniature.” Inspired by his creativity and dedication to the industry, the chapter created this award to honor practitioners who, like Paul, effectively use public relations to fuel solutions.

The PR Team of the Year Award, which was introduced in 2016, is a chance to honor a high-performing communications team for its outstanding support of your clients’ and your organization’s communications objectives.

Formerly New Professional of the Year, the Rising Star Award recognizes someone who is starting out in the PR/communications industry and consistently demonstrates a commitment to excellence and professional development.

The chapter is also accepting nominations for Educator of the YearPartner of Distinction, and Lifetime Achievement Awards.
