Recognition and Appointments: Appel and Chardavoyne

Kristen Appel, the Director of Marketing for BARE International, a global customer experience and market research firm, has been accepted into Forbes Communications Council, an invitation-only community for executives in communications, marketing and public relations. BARE International is a provider of customer experience research, data, and analytics for companies worldwide. Founded in 1987, BARE is headquartered in Fairfax, Virginia with ten offices around the world.

The recently opened DC office of Markstein, a Birmingham, Alabama based full-service marketing communications agency, today announced the appointment of Nicole Chardavoyne as vice president, Mid Atlantic in its Washington, D.C. office. Chardavoyne joins Markstein’s D.C. team as the firm continues to expand its corporate, issues/crisis and advocacy work.Chardavoyne specializes in corporate reputation, issues management, media training and social impact. Prior to joining Markstein, she spent nearly 15 years at Qorvis Communications/MSL where she led award-winning campaigns for clients including UPS, the National Safety Council, Firestone, Constellation Brands and Beam Global Spirits & Wine (now Beam Suntory). Chardavoyne also ran Qorvis’s media training practice, working with clients including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), TruGreen and a leading defense company.
