Reston, VA-based Ellucian appointed Sharon Loeb as its chief marketing officer. Ellucian, states a release is a provider of software and services “built to power higher education.”

As CMO, Loeb will join the Executive Leadership Team and drive strategic marketing initiatives and growth focused on digital transformation and the move to cloud. She will lead all aspects of the global Brand Marketing, Field Marketing, Solutions Marketing, Global Programs, Marketing Communications, and Marketing Operations organizations.
According to the release: “Throughout her 20-year career in the education technology industry, Loeb has been a transformational leader recognized for designing and deploying creative marketing and communications initiatives, including go-to-market strategies that increase brand affinity and generate demand. She comes to Ellucian most recently from Cengage Learning where she served as executive vice president and chief marketing officer. In this capacity, she led all aspects of marketing, communications and public affairs in support of company objectives.”
Prior to Cengage Learning, Loeb served as vice president of marketing for McGraw-Hill Higher Education where she directed all marketing and communications efforts across several business units.
