Robert Mathias, Former CEO, Ogilvy PR North America, to Lead Communications at The National Parks Foundation

by | Oct 14, 2018

Former CEO, Ogilvy PR North America’s Robert Mathias, has joined the National Park Foundation as Chief of External Affairs. Mathias will lead the Government Relations, Marketing and Communications functions for the National Park Foundation and will be responsible for the Foundation’s advocacy, advertising, marketing and PR programming, including digital strategy and brand development. The Foundation, chartered by Congress in 1967 as the official nonprofit partner of the National Park Service, raises funds to develop and support initiatives that inspire people to connect with and protect the natural and cultural resources that are celebrated and preserved across our National Parks.

Mathias served in various roles at Ogilvy from 1995 – 2017, including Managing Director, President and CEO. “Throughout my career at Ogilvy, I was a top revenue producer who could effectively counsel clients and help to develop solutions to their business challenges; manage teams of people, operations and financials; exceed expectations of a high-profile client base and have some fun along the way,” said Mathias.

From 2017 to his recent appointment, Mathias served as Founder and President of Channel Rock Strategic Advisory, an independent consultancy that provides unbiased counsel and hands-on assistance to CEO’s, trade association executives and not-for-profit leaders.
