Sean Carton, Vice President, Growth & Innovation at Baltimore-based idfive, “taking the plunge into the unknown”

Sean Carton, vice president, growth & innovation at Baltimore-based idfive, posted the following on LinkedIn: “After18 amazing years helping to build idfive into one of Baltimore’s top digital agencies (and a national leader in higher ed marketing/web development), I’m taking the plunge into the unknown. While I’ll still be working with idfive as an independent business development consultant for the time being, I’ll be spending most of my time scouting for my next big adventure.
“I’ve had quite a ride so far. I’ve been lucky enough to ride the wave from the dawn of the World Wide Web to today’s AI revolution. I’ve collaborated with many fantastic clients, from innovative manufacturers, national trade organizations, and major cultural institutions to leading universities and everything in between. I’ve watched colleagues grow into industry leaders and learned some tough lessons along the way. And let’s be honest—I’ve had a blast doing it all.
“So, what’s next? I have no idea! But I do know that I want to keep stretching my brain, inspiring my peers, learning new things, and crafting beautiful solutions to tough problems. I want to keep challenging myself and contributing to making the world a better place. I’m open to all possibilities.”
Previously, states Wikipedia, Carton headed the Center for Digital Communication, Culture, and Commerce at the University of Baltimore. In addition, while at Richardson, Myers & Donofrio (RM&D) in the early 1990s he was co-founder with Chuck Donofrio of one of Baltimore’s first digital agencies, web development company Carton Donofrio Interactive. The entire RM&D agency later rebranded as Carton Donofrio Partners. He also served as Dean of the School of Design and Media at Philadelphia University. He is the author of numerous books about the Internet and video games.
