Five Tips for Better Privacy on Facebook Provided by Social Driver

by | Apr 13, 2018

When Mark Zuckerberg, co-founder and CEO of Facebook, testified before Congress to address Facebook’s use and protection of user data, a real focus of his testimony related to the growing concern of securing personal information.  It is clearly an issue that will remain part of the public agenda in the days and months following Zuckerberg’s appearance before Congress.

One D.C.-based agency, Social Driver, created a Facebook PrivGuide which you can access here.

According to Fox5DC, the founder and CEO of Social Driver, Thomas Sanchez, said in an interview that the Facebook PrivGuide has a Privacy Checkup area that’s “almost like a step-by-step wizard that going to walk you through adjusting your settings,” said Sanchez.

“That includes what your friends, family and advertisers can see. Sanchez said this is where you will be able to see which third-party apps have access to your basic data.

““You would want to go through here and be able to remove these apps, especially if you are not using them. Just click ‘Delete App’ and it is going to be that simple.”

“Also under Privacy Checkup, Facebook has created a new privacy basics tab designed to teach you the basics of Facebook security and how to manage your privacy settings.

Sanchez will be featured on a panel at the Mid-Atlantic Marketing Summit on April 26 in DC.  Sanchez is an innovator and entrepreneur focused on the intersection of marketing and technology. Under his leadership, Social Driver was named “DC’s Coolest Companies” (DCInno) and the 7th fastest growing agency in the United States (The Agency 100). Sanchez is an advocate for innovation in education, diversity in business and inclusion in technology. He was recently named a Minority Business Leader by the Washington Business Journal and appointed by the mayor of Washington, D.C., as an advisor to the District government.  More on MAMS here.
