Seven Letter and O’Neill and Associates Merge, Combined Company to Operate Under the Seven Letter Brand

by | Jul 8, 2020

Seven Letter and O’Neill and Associates announced they will combine their strategic communications and marketing practices to create a fully integrated agency.  The combined company, with more than 40 employees, will have, states a release, “national reach and a roster of public and private sector clients in financial services, health care, education, transportation, energy, housing and nonprofits will operate under the Seven Letter brand. O’Neill and Associates’ government relations practice will continue to operate seamlessly with the communications professionals, bolstered by the capabilities provided by the expanded Seven Letter team.”

In 2018, it acquired JDA Frontline, a competing strategic communications firm, to cement its bipartisan credentials and rebranded the joint offering as Seven Letter. In 2019, Seven Letter acquired Tessio Labs to expand and enhance its digital strategy services. The partnership with O’Neill and Associates will significantly expand both firms’ reach and add to its stable of award-winning strategic communications experts. Seven Letter is a multi-year “PR News Top Places to Work” award winner, with senior leaders of the firm also receiving awards for industry excellence from PR Week and other outlets.

O’Neill and Associates, says the release, is “New England’s leading public affairs and communications firm that has served as the agency of choice for private and public sector companies and organizations across the United States. Founded in 1991 by O’Neill, son of the late U.S. Speaker of the House “Tip” O’Neill, the firm has been recognized by Banker & Tradesman and the Boston Business Journal for being among the “Top 3 Public Relations Firms” and one of the “Area’s Largest Public Relations Firms” for more than a decade.” While Thomas O’Neill III sold control of his namesake public relations firm to Seven Letter, he will hold onto its lobbying practice.
