Social Driver CEO States: “The Recent Lethal Attacks on Black Americans is Unacceptable … (and) the List of Those Killed is too Long for our Hearts to Hold”

“The recent lethal attacks on Black Americans is unacceptable,” says Thomas Sanchez
Founder and CEO of D.C.-based Social Driver.

In a statement to “Our Teams and Communities,” Sanchez writes:

“The violence against our neighbors must stop. The murders of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery and Breonna Taylor have unleashed pent-up pain and sorrow. The list of those killed is too long for our hearts to hold.

“Members of the Social Driver family are hurt and grieving. We would never pretend to understand the level of pain our Black friends, family and colleagues are experiencing right now, but I want you to know the leadership of this company stands with the Black community. We support our team members, clients and partners in the fight against systemic racism and injustice.

“Many of our clients are working on the issues we’ll need to address on our path to healing, including the inequities in education, employment and entrepreneurship, exacerbated by poverty and power disparities. Through our collaboration, we get to help move those missions forward.

“At this time, we have encouraged our team members to leverage our flexible leave policy to take the time they need and we’ve provided access to an employee assistance program for support services. We are fostering open dialogues internally and externally to purposefully make anti-racism a strong part of our culture. We encourage our clients and partners to join us.

“Since we opened our doors, Social Driver has encouraged our community to envision a world that puts people above everything else. It’s hard to see now, but I believe progress will come. Just this week, I saw team members come together to listen to all voices and discuss what more we can do as a company to move in the right direction. It was inspiring — and the first of many steps ahead. ”
