Subject Matter Produces PSA for 9/11 Memorial & Museum in Honor of 20th Anniversary of Terrorist Attacks

Subject Matter has produced a PSA for the 9/11 Memorial & Museum in honor of the 20th anniversary of the terrorist attacks that took place on September 11, 2001.  The 9/11 attacks and the February 26, 1993, bombing of the World Trade Center, resulted in the deaths of 2,983 men, women and children.

The PSA features Chloe Downey, the granddaughter of FDNY Chief Raymond Downey who oversaw Special Operations and died in the attacks. According to Subject Matter, “Chloe is a stand-in for all who were impacted, and also represents a generation with no living memory of 9/11.

“The 20-year anniversary marks a turning point as many Americans who were either born after 9/11 are entering adulthood, which makes educating a new generation a crucial step as this event goes from memory to history.

The campaign features John Legend’s “Never Break” which accompanies imagery of the Memorial alongside archival footage of the twin towers both before and after the attacks.

In New York City, family members of 9/11 victims will gather on the Memorial plaza in NYC on 9/11  to read aloud the names of those killed in the 9/11 attacks and in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing.

Subject Matter was tapped for this campaign to raise awareness of those events, and fundraise to support the ongoing educational programming of the Museum.
