The Martin Agency and Tag Team Spot for GEICO Viewed More than 14 Million Times on YouTube

“One commercial has overtaken the advertising world through an incredible coming together of a classic tune, a powerhouse marketing campaign and, of course, the hip-hop capital of the world: Atlanta,” states a post on The Undefeated.

“In the commercial, a woman is minding her business in her kitchen, when a disembodied voice asks Tasha (the character) if she’s familiar with their product. Then, in jest, Tag Team shows up and the magic begins,” continues the post.

The Martin Agency, based in Richmond, VA, and Tag Team, creators of the ’90s multi-platinum smash Whoomp! (There It Is), joined together for the attention-grabbing spot for GEICO, based in Chevy Chase, MD.

The commercial, called “Tag Team Helps with Dessert,” has, says a release, brought pure fun back to living rooms across America. There’s the high-energy Tag Team performance, ice cream, of course sprinkles, and performances by Nicci Carr (Tasha), Amethyst Davis (Daughter), and Anthony Goolsby (Husband/Father).

To date, the spot has had more than 14 million views on YouTube.
