Sixty awards were presented at the 62nd annual Richmond Show, which took place April 28 at the Altria Theater in Richmond. According to the Richmond Ad Club: “Between the goofs and the giggles, we celebrated the incredible talent of our community. The show was emceed by former membership chair and future Board President, Yasir Afzal, and our wildly talented copywriter, Rebecca Frankel. Paul Schmidt returned to reprise his role as the show’s announcer.
“This year’s theme was Adage, defined as: a proverb or short statement expressing a general truth. Inspired by retro advertisements with antiquated claims and products, the theme was to be kitschy, campy, and vintage. Following Board President Brandon Shields’s welcome address, Event Chair Helen Row took off her headset and set down her clipboard to speak on the concept behind the theme and the impact Richmond’s advertising community has on our greater culture.”
Best in Show winners:
- The King Agency took home Best in Show in both the Design and Advertising category, for their 25th Anniversary Invitations. (The King Agency’s Netflix-style invitations shown above.)
