The Washington Post and Arc Publishing, The Post’s software-as-a-service business, took home top honors at WAN-IFRA’s North America Digital Media Awards. The Post won for Best News Website and Arc was named Best Innovation New Product.
As winners of the North America Awards, The Post and Arc qualify to compete for WAN-IFRA’s World Digital Media Awards against the best digital projects of Africa, Asia, Europe, India, LATAM and the Middle East.
The Post also took second place in the category of Best in Social Media Engagement for being the first national news publisher to launch on Reddit and Best Data Visualization for its coverage of the 2016 election.
In other news from The Post, in September, it recorded 95.3 million total digital unique visitors, according to comScore, representing double-digit year-over-year growth. According to The Post, this is The Post’s “fourth highest digital audience ever. Mobile readership also continued to grow, with The Post recording 79 million readers in September, a 17 percent increase year-over-year and a five percent jump from August.”
