SmithGifford, an award-winning advertising and marketing services agency, announced the appointment of Trisha Pierce as president, a new position.
In making the announcement, SmithGifford founder-CEO Matt Smith said Pierce, who joined SmithGifford as an account supervisor in 2010, represents the next generation of leadership at the agency.
“We’re very pleased that we could choose someone from within our own ranks to fill this important position,” said Smith. “As the eye of the SmithGifford hurricane, Trisha excels at operating efficiently on both a micro and macro level, envisioning the big picture of our clients’ success while tracking every detail. Under her leadership, the account team makes sure all creative is strategically aligned with client goals and overall communications.”
Before being named president, Pierce worked as SmithGifford’s director of account services and was also responsible for business development.
In her new role, Pierce will oversee client relations and operations on all agency accounts and will continue to oversee new business efforts. She brings a wealth of marketing experience across many disciplines, including advertising, strategy, branding and integrated marketing. Her experience includes working in client categories such as automotive, banking, food and beverage, healthcare, education, nonprofit, retail and technology.
Over the course of her 10-year career in advertising, she has led efforts for such brands as Georgetown McDonough School of Business, Melwood, Identity Guard, Voyce, Ford Motor Company, José Andrés’ ThinkFoodGroup, Middleburg Bank, MyEyeDr., Robert Wood Johnson Health System, Subaru and The Nature Conservancy.
Pierce joined SmithGifford from the Toro Group in Reston, VA, where she worked as VP of business development, and prior to that she worked in business development for Xerox Corp. She is the recipient of more than a dozen DC Addy awards over the past five years and has served on several boards and committees associated with the DC Ad Club. She is a graduate of the University of Maryland, where she earned a degree in marketing.
