Unconquered Promotes Football Gloves; Hatcher Selected for Maryland 529 Marketing; Weiss Wins in PR World Awards

by | Sep 15, 2019

Just in time for this year’s NFL season, Baltimore agency Unconquered delivered a campaign to promote Grip Boost Stealth Pro Elite gloves featuring Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Tyreek “Cheetah” Hill who will wear a special edition of the gloves this season.

The Unconquered team created the concept, creative, scripts, content strategy, production logistics, behind-the-scenes concept, and shot all within one week on-location in Kansas City, according to Unconquered Co-Founder and Creative Director Brian Schneider. The next week, the campaign launched across Hill’s and Grip Boost’s social channels.

The glove product was developed after engineering PhDs from the University of Maryland’s Chemical Engineering Department teamed up with former Terps and Ravens Tight End Matt Furstenburg and entrepreneur Harry Geller in 2012 to tackle one of the biggest problems with football gloves, ensuring they keep their sticky grip. The agency has offices in Baltimore and New York.

The Maryland Board of Public Works approved a $1,889,018 contract to market the Maryland 529 college savings program to the Hatcher Group, headquartered in Bethesda with offices in Baltimore and Annapolis.

Hatcher will provide services to support Maryland 529 marketing initiatives in the following areas: comprehensive marketing and reports, branding and advertising, print collateral, media planning buying, digital media planning and buying, community outreach and public relations, account management, and marketing strategy report.

The contract approved by the BPW on Sept. 4 is for $751,572 (2 years, base term), with three one-year renewal options of $373,075; $377,359 and $387,013. A 9% MBE participation goal was established for the contract and Hatcher committed to an 18% MBE participation goal. Two firms were considered; Devaney & Associates came in at $2,238,536.

Baltimore’s Weiss PR, Inc. won two Golds in the 2019 PR World Awards in the categories of “Achievement of the Year” for New Product Launch, and “Achievement of the Year” for Security Software. According to the press announcement, Weiss PR was recognized for helping to launch a software solution that secured a dominant share of voice in the serverless security space. In addition to garnering significant media coverage in tech, trade, and mainstream press, the PR program included an analyst relations component that resulted in the Weiss PR client being featured in numerous reports and earning multiple industry awards.
