Ron, please provide us a short bio.
Born in Baltimore. Raised in advertising and design. Creative guy at HZDG.
Are you involved in any other organizations?
I donate my time to a few non-profits that will go unnamed. They know who I am and appreciate the time.
What are the things you are most proud of?
- My family and kids.
- The creative teams at HZ – a huge pool of talented individuals
- Still able to run a mile in the mid 6’s
Who are your personal role models?
My grandparents taught me that etiquette and a good character go a very long way in work and play.
My parents taught me to work hard, measure twice and cut once, to appreciate the life that is in front of you, and to stay in your financial lane of life.
And a yellow lab taught me that there is more to life than work.
What professional advice do you have for others?
Become a pop culture sponge and absorb everything in your way. And, if you can actually slow down for 10 minutes, it’s amazing what you will discover. The next time you’re in a Whole Foods or gourmet store, spend some time looking at all the package design in an aisle. Pick it up, turn it around, shake it. Appreciate what that designer accomplished. Or visit a different production company site to view the latest broadcast and content that these houses are producing on a daily basis. The world runs on ideas and design. Stop and appreciate them—they’re all around us.
What’s on your Spotify or Pandora playlists?
Cate le Bon, Band of Horses, Beach House, Radiohead, Ty Segall, The Decemberists.
What’s your favorite restaurant?
Matsuhisa
