Banner Public Affairs announced that Christian Whiton has joined the firm. According to a release, as senior vice president, Whiton, adds deep strategic communications experience for clients in technology, finance, legal, and international fields, as well as crisis management. Whiton joins Banner from the State Department, where he was a senior advisor for strategic communications. During the Presidential Transition, Whiton was the media advisor to Rex Tillerson and Nikki Haley during their respective nominations for Secretary of State and U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations.
Wakefield Research, a full-service market research firm in Arlington, Va., announced that Lisa Johnson Kiefer has been named vice president. Kiefer joined the firm in 2014 as managing director of Wakefield Research’s Public Relations Polling division and will continue oversight of the division in her new role. In 2017, Kiefer was nominated for the WWPR Emerging Leaders Award.
Environics Communications in Washington, DC, announced that in honor of Giving Tuesday, it will donate $20,000 of pro-bono communications work to two Washington-area non-profits: the DC Rape Crisis Center and Active Minds. In 2016, the agency awarded the work to the Mathematical Association of America and the Animal Welfare Institute.
