Van Eperen announced that Hillarie Turner has joined the agency as vice president.

Turner will provide senior-level counsel for the agency’s health and science clients and play an integral role in business development, marketing and staff mentoring.

“Under the leadership of Senior Vice President Karen Addis, APR, our health and science practice is our largest practice and continues to grow,” said Van Eperen CEO Laura Van Eperen. “Hillarie’s background further strengthens and complements our team’s proven track record in this sector.”

Turner is a seasoned professional with more than 15 years specializing in health and scientific communications. She comes to Van Eperen from Spectrum where she provided strategic oversight and counsel spanning a variety of therapeutic areas, including neuroscience, diabetes and oncology. Turner has managed communications for a range of large national and international consumer health care and life sciences clients, including corporations, associations, nonprofits and advocacy organizations.

“I know from first-hand experience that Hillarie’s ability to provide exceptional client service, her dedication to delivering top-notch results and her deep expertise in and passion for all things health and science make her an excellent addition to our team,” said Addis.

Turner has also worked in-house at the American Psychiatric Association and the American Chemical Society, spearheading public awareness campaigns, strategic communications planning and large-scale national meeting press operations.

Turner received a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Elon University. She served as president of Washington Women in Public Relations for two years.
