Veterans Day: “The Soldier Above All Others Prays for Peace”

As our nation observes Veterans Day, we are reminded of the message of  General Douglas MacArthur:  “The soldier above all others prays for peace, for it is the soldier who must suffer and bear the deepest wounds and scars of war.”

There are millions of Americans, still living, who served our country, but almost every one of them was in a position where they could be sent anywhere … at any time … leaving behind family and friends and, in some cases, not knowing when, or if, they would return.
