Vince Sharps, EVP at VersaTech and Mindgrub, dies at 45

Vince Sharps, executive vice president of VersaTech and a former executive vice president of Baltimore-based Mindgrub, died on Sunday, September 24, at age 45.

The cause of death and other details have not been released. Capitol Communicator will update this story when more information becomes available.

According to a press release issued when Sharps was named to the EVP role at VersaTech in June, “Vincent is a true powerhouse when it comes to identifying and shaping future leaders. Throughout his notable career as both an entrepreneur and executive, he’s refined a leadership style that’s unparalleled. Intentionally practicing a mindful posture with an acute ability to identify talent, and an understanding of the adoption cycle of emerging technologies in new markets and industries.

“As our new EVP, Vincent will be spearheading the growth team at VersaTech, alongside our visionary Founder and CEO, Jason Peay. Vince, with his exceptional voice amplifying our mission, vision and values, will propel us toward our future goals.”

According to his LinkedIn profile, Sharps was EVP & Chief Business Officer at Mindgrub, where he worked for seven years between 2019 and 2023.

A visitation is set for October 9 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Witzke Funeral Homes Inc., 5555 Twin Knolls Road, in Columbia. A visitation will occur Tuesday, October 10, from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Bridgeway Community Church, 9189 Red Branch Rd., in Columbia, where a funeral service will be held at 10 a.m.
