Virginia Lottery Selects New Branding Agency; Elevation Announces Promotions and Hires

The Virginia Lottery tapped a new Richmond branding agency to help freshen up its brand 30 years after the first lottery ticket was sold in 1988, reports Richmond Times Dispatch, which added that “Tilt Creative + Production, formed in March by three advertising veterans, won a year-long contract with the Virginia Lottery to do branding work.
“Tilt Creative formed earlier this year when film and video production firm Park Group and the creative content firm Studio Squared merged.
“It joins two other local advertising/creative/strategy agencies – NDP and Barber Martin Agency – with contracts with the Virginia Lottery.
““Tilt is our branding and strategy agency. They will be working on the big questions and the big picture,” said Terri Rose, Virginia Lottery director of advertising and gaming.
““NDP is working on media buying. They go out and negotiate our advertising buys,” she said.
“”Barber Martin does all of our creative work, all of the commercial development, all of the signage you see in the retail stores, they do all of the creative and production that supports those things,” Rose said.
“The contracts vary and are usually put out for bid every two to three years. The lottery has an advertising budget of about $30 million, she said.”
