Virginia Updates: Name Change at Padilla, New Videos for Audi USA and New Hire at Deschutes Brewery

Communications and public relations firm PadillaCRT in Richmond has become Padilla. It is dropping the CRT part of its name — short for Carter Ryley Thomas — that has been used since 1996.  That’s when employees of the Richmond office of Maryland-based Earle Palmer Brown public relations bought the local office from the owners and created Carter Ryley Thomas firm. CRT took its moniker from the names of three of the founders’ children, reports the Richmond Time Dispatch. (The Minneapolis-based company has a second leadership office in South Richmond.)

Park Group and sister company Juicy Films in Richmond have been filming and editing multiple videos for Audi USA, which is based in Herndon, Va., reports Richmond BizSense. They most recently wrapped a 12-day shoot featuring the Audi Q5 in various locations in California.

Deschutes Brewery hired Caroline Macdonell as its field marketing manager for the East Coast, reports Virginia Business, which added that she will be located in Roanoke, where the Oregon-based company is building an East Coast brewery. Macdonell is responsible for acting as a liaison with the local community, local officials and the greater Deschutes Brewery team. She will manage marketing plans, programs, sponsorships and events in the region, while driving sales and company goal integration.  Macdonnel most recently served as promotions supervisor for Great Lakes Brewing Co. in Cleveland after holding several positions with the company over the last several years. Macdonell received Master’s level training from Cleveland State University in mental health counseling, and holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, Spanish and Latin American Studies from The Ohio State University.
