The Washington Post laid off 54 employees from Arc XP, the division of the company that makes and sells publishing software to other media brands, as part of what a Post spokesperson called a “refined product vision,” reports The Post.
This vision, spokesperson Olivia Petersen said, includes AI-enhanced content creation, personalized user experience and advanced analytics for Arc XP’s thousands of clients around the world.
According to The Post: “The layoffs come roughly a year after The Post laid off seven Arc XP employees as part of a smaller restructuring, and less than a year after The Post reduced its newsroom workforce by 240 people through a combination of buyouts and layoffs. The Arc XP employees are not part of the union that represents Post newspaper employees.”
