Washington Post personal finance columnist Michelle Singletary has been recognized with the Legacy Award from the National Association of Black Journalists.
According to The Post, the Legacy Award “is a special honor awarded to a Black print, broadcast, digital, or photo journalist of extraordinary accomplishment who has broken barriers and blazed trails. Nominees have contributed to the understanding or advancement of people and issues in the African Diaspora.
“The award recognizes Michelle for her award-winning column, “The Color of Money,” which appears twice a week in dozens of newspapers across the country, as well as The Washington Post. Michelle also is the recipient of the 2022 Gerald Loeb Lifetime Achievement Award. In 2021, she won a prestigious Gerald Loeb Award for Commentary for a deeply personal series about racism called, “Sincerely, Michelle.””
