Communications firm Warschawski announced the launch of an accelerator that combines three elements: the ability to do marketing communications work in exchange for equity, the financial backing and connections of a VC firm, and incubator work space and living quarters for its founders. With an already growing portfolio of companies, W Ventures is now accepting applications from early-stage to established start-up companies for entrance into its innovative program and its W Hub work and live space.
The ideation for W Ventures was spearheaded by David Warschawski, an avid business investor and the CEO & Founder of Warschawski, a full service marketing communications agency that repeatedly has been ranked the Top U.S. Agency in its size category. After many years of investing in and working with startup companies that needed marketing communications help without the funds to procure it, he wanted to create an innovative model that allowed disruptive companies to obtain the support necessary to grow and achieve their business goals.
Warschawski also wanted to help grow the entrepreneurial and start-up ecosystem in his home region. To that end, the W Ventures office space spans the first floor of a 100-year-old historic church, located in the idyllic Mt. Washington Village, that is home to Warschawski’s U.S. Headquarters. The building was recently completely renovated and transformed into an architectural masterpiece featuring a beautiful, modern workspace for businesses to call their own. W Ventures also owns the house next door to the church, which serves as The Founder’s House, where start-up executives can choose to live.
“W Ventures is a unique concept in that we are not just a VC firm, and we are not just an incubator. We are the best combination of both with the added benefit of being married to a great marketing communications firm that can do top-notch marcom work in exchange for equity. We think of ourselves as rocket fuel that can propel early-stage companies to greatness.” said Warschawski, Managing Partner of W Ventures. “I always have been committed to growing the Baltimore/Washington business ecosystem and highlighting what a great place it is to do business. With the launch of W Ventures, we have an opportunity to help this region flourish by facilitating the growth of the next generation of great companies in the area, while recruiting others to the region.”
W Ventures offers its portfolio companies access to its network of angel and VC investors, as well as business and subject matter experts who can assist in refining every aspect of their offerings. The company provides either cash investments and/or marketing communications services in exchange for equity and offers beautiful office space and living quarters for executives. W Ventures often works with its extensive network to share investment opportunities with other potential investors and to engage expert feedback on potential investments.
