The Washington Post has been named a World’s Best-Designed finalist in both the news website and the newspaper competitions. It’s the first time , stated The Post, that it has been a World’s Best finalist for digital and the third straight year the company has earned the newspaper distinction. The winners from each contest will be announced in April at Society for News Design’s annual workshop in Charlotte.
Across SND’s digital and print competitions judged last month, The Post earned more total awards than any other publication – winning one gold medal, 11 silver medals and more than 170 total awards.
For the news website competition, The Post is one of seven finalists along with The New York Times, The Guardian, National Geographic, Quartz, The Outline and The Intercept.
For the newspaper competition, The Post is one of 12 finalists from a pool of close to 200 newspapers.
