Washington Post’s Dan Steinberg exits for The Athletic

Dan Steinberg, another employee exiting The Washington Post, is joining The Atlantic as an NFL managing editor.
An announcement about his move to The Atlantic states: “Dan has spent his entire 25-year career at The Washington Post, where he first was hired as a part-time news aide and preps writer, but, in his words, “refused to go away.” He followed those roles by becoming a trend-setter in the sports blog space for The Post, founding the hugely popular D.C. Sports Bog in 2006 (@dcsportsbog is, in fact, still his X handle). He became a columnist in 2014 and an editor in 2018. For the last year he has supervised NFL coverage for The Post, and he also has in recent years edited award-winning work by writers that include Sally Jenkins, Candace Buckner and Jerry Brewer.”
At The Atlantic, Steinberg will be overseeing its coverage of the Washington Commanders.
