Washington Post’s Kate M. Davey exits to become COO of WAMU

WAMU added Kate M. Davey as Chief Operating Officer.
According to a release, Davey joins WAMU after more than two decades in media leadership, most recently serving as Vice President of Revenue Strategy & Operations at The Washington Post. At WAMU, states the release, Davey will manage a robust operations portfolio including technology, finance, human resources and administration and the growth of corporate underwriting. Corporate underwriting provides roughly 30 percent of the organization’s annual operating budget.
“I am excited about Kate joining WAMU,” says WAMU General Manager Erika Pulley-Hayes. “She brings a wealth of experience to the role of Chief Operating Officer and we welcome her background in media and revenue growth. I’m confident that Kate will play a critical role in advancing WAMU’s public service mission that provides trusted news and information to the Washington region.”
