WRC in D.C. Raises $120,000 for Thanksgiving Dinner Fundraiser
by Capitol Communicator | Nov 17, 2020
For more than 25 years, WRC TV has collected donations from the community to give Thanksgiving dinners to those in need as part of a program called Food 4 Families.
This year, reports TVSpy, “the fundraiser looked a little different. The NBC station in Washington D.C. would typically hold large in-person collections where people could drop off food and supplies, but due to the pandemic pivoted to a virtual fundraiser instead.
“Despite the changes, community giving exceeded expectations. The station raised more than $120,000 from viewers, more than $35,000 over the company’s set goal.”
