For 27 seasons, WTOP sports director Dave Johnson has been a voice who has excited D.C. United fans with one phrase: “It’s in the net!”  Johnson, 58, said as he’s grateful for his time calling the D.C. United games for almost three decades, reports WTOP.  “I’ve been so blessed,” Johnson said.

The end of that portion of Johnson’s career follows Major League Soccer announcement that Apple will bring the league’s games to Apple TV with new broadcast teams in a 10-year deal.

Johnson still has plenty on his plate.  In addition to WTOP, Johnson is the radio play-by-play voice of the NBA’s Washington Wizards, and host of the team’s weekly television show. Johnson also regularly anchors Comcast SportsNet’s news show Geico SportsNet Central, states Wikipedia.
