ADWKDC 2015 Set for Sept. 26 – Oct. 2 in D.C.

ADWKDC is set for Sept. 26 to Oct. 2, 2015, in Washington, D.C. According to DC Ad Club, “participants of ADWKDC will be inspired and empowered to produce better work, grow business opportunities, adopt new technologies and stay abreast of the rapidly changing landscape.”

ADWKDC – Advertising Week DC –  reports DC Ad Club, “is the region’s largest and most diverse gathering of advertising, marketing, digital, technology, public affairs, social media, event marketing and traditional media leaders. Now in its ninth year, ADWKDC celebrates the best of our industry with a week of networking, professional development, education, and parties! The week is a mix of fee-based, VIP, and invitation-only events.”

For ADWKDC, DC Ad Club gathers business leaders from the Greater Washington advertising, marketing, and media industry to oversee this week which is “dedicated to showcasing the best of DC and the nation’s communications industry.”

Here’s the line-up of events for ADWKDC:

Saturday, September 26

9:00 am – 7:00 pm: CREATE (Facebook HQ)

CREATE is the advertising industry’s “give back” initiative, a one-day event where teams composed of DC-area young professionals and students work together to CREATE advertising campaigns on the spot for selected local nonprofits. Teams will be mentored by seasoned advertising professionals and will present their best ideas to the client for implementation–LIVE!

Tuesday, September 29,

3:00 – 5:00 pm: Advertising Ethics Certificate Workshop (LMO Advertising)

With the growing importance of ethics to consumers, professionals and clients, the American Advertising Federation (AAF), in conjunction with the Institute for Advertising Ethics (IAE), initiated a new professional certifi cate program for advertising, PR, and marketing communications professionals. This session will prepare professionals to understand and resolve the ethical dilemmas faced in the real world of advertising and public relations. Attendees will be awarded the Certifi cate for the Practice of Enhanced Advertising Ethics.

5:30 – 7:30 pm: AFTER HOURS Rosslyn (location TBD)

Wednesday, September 30

6:30 – 8:30 pm: Water Cooler Wednesday (Downtown D.C.)

Connect and unwind with up-and-comers in the DC’s thriving communications industry. Ad 2 DC’s Water Cooler Wednesday is a free happy hour event where you can meet and network with some of the most talented young professionals in the advertising, marketing, media, PR and creative field.

Thursday, October 1, and Friday, October 2

8:30 am – 4:45 pm: Conference (FHI Conference Center, Washington, DC)

Two days of the best professional development you can find in our market. Nationally recognized speakers, from across the country and from our own backyard, will present a combination of keynotes and panel discussions. We will have a mix of general session speakers, as well as breakout tracks focusing on Creative, Strategy, and Media. Audience participation will be a big part of the day, with each session allotting time for Q&A.
