Agency Updates: Crosby Marketing Communications, Hager Sharp and The Hatcher Group

Madeline Beck has been promoted to integration director at Crosby Marketing Communications in Annapolis. Beck, who joined Crosby in 2009, has more than 13 years of experience managing integrated marketing campaigns on a national level. She serves in the agency’s Federal Government practice, which specializes in multifaceted outreach and public service campaigns to educate and inspire the American public. As integration director, she will expand her leadership role in managing complex marketing campaigns for two of Crosby’s largest clients – Social Security Administration and the Department of Health and Human Services’ Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), which is dedicated to increasing the number of organ donors.

Hager Sharp announced the appointment of Lisa Matthews, longtime planning editor for the Associated Press in D.C., as vice president. Matthews, stated a release, is an award-winning journalist who has orchestrated AP coverage of major events such as the Olympics, the Summit on Africa, and breaking news nationwide. As planning editor at the AP, she was overseeing teams of video, radio and digital journalists; and working with AP print and photo divisions as well as bureaus across the country.

Samantha Kappalman joined The Hatcher Group in Baltimore after serving as director of legislative and public affairs at the Maryland Department of the Environment where she developed and implemented communications, messaging and digital strategy, as well as managing legislative relations and policy. She previously worked as a senior public relations specialist at the National Education Association.
