Chris Lawrence, who was senior VP in Hill+Knowlton Strategies’ research unit, moved to Finn Partners as director of research in its D.C. office, reports O’Dwyer’s.  Prior to H+K, he was senior VP at Weber Shandwick’s KRC Research and field director at Fabrizio, McLaughlin & Assocs.

Recently retired Rep. Henry Waxman (D-Calif) joined Waxman Strategies, a public affairs and strategic communications consulting firm owned by his son Michael, reported The Hill. The veteran congressman will serve as the chairman of the firm. Waxman served 40 years in Congress, including high-profile roles on the House Energy & Commerce Committee and the Committee on Oversight & Government Reform, and built his legacy as a prolific legislator and fervent investigator, continued The Hill report.

LMO Advertising announced that Kris Murphy, the firm’s director of direct marketing, has been named to the Direct Marketing Association of Washington’s Educational Foundation (DMAW/EF) board of directors, as a full voting member. As the newest member of the DMAW/EF board, Murphy will assist the organization in its mission to provide direct marketing courses, programs and awards to educate and inspire potential direct marketers to enter the field. Murphy, who originally joined LMO Advertising in 2007, has built the National Guard’s direct marketing program into a model of success in military recruiting. He has also worked on direct marketing efforts for clients including, Advantage Rent A Car, FVCbank, and Military Officers Association of America, among others.
