Jay Solomon, an award-winning journalist and former chief foreign correspondent for the Wall Street Journal, has joined APCO Worldwide as a senior director. In his role as part of APCO’s Global Solutions Practice, Solomon will provide expertise on foreign policy, cyber security and national security issues. In addition, Solomon will counsel clients on media engagement and brand positioning.

Longtime local sportscaster Chick Hernandez will leave NBC Sports Washington at the end of the week after 17-years with the network. Hernandez’s contract expired and was not renewed. He most recently hosted shows featuring Washington Redskins news. Hernandez, worked for the network since 2001 and previously spent seven years working at WTTG, Washington’s Fox affiliate.
iHeartMedia announced that Corey Calhoun has been named the new night on-air personality and Music Director for 98.7 WMZQ, Today’s Best Country, effective Monday, June 4th, 2018. Calhoun will broadcast weeknights from 7 p.m. – 12 a.m. Calhoun joins the D.C. Market from WAMZ in Louisville, Ky. where he most recently served as the morning show host for the past two years. Prior to that, Calhoun was the afternoon host and Assistant Program Director for WAMZ before moving to mornings.
