Around Town: Wine Association Taps REQ for Web Design, Vox Media’s Concert Signs New Publishers, More

WSWA, the national association representing the wholesale tier of the wine and spirits industry, selected REQ to redesign and relaunch their current website. The newly transformed website will have intuitive architectural and functional capabilities to help WSWA provide an updated platform to their thousands of members nationwide.

Vox Media’s Concert, the digital advertising marketplace that brings publishers together to compete with digital giants such as Facebook and Google, has added new publishers to its group. Last week, New York Media, PopSugar and Rolling Stone announced they are becoming members of Concert. Current partners include include SBNation, recode, Brit + Co., and The Verge. The Wall Street Journal reported that Ryan Pauley, vice president of revenue operations at Vox Media and general manager of Concert, said, “No individual publisher is going to be able to compete with Facebook and Google, but with Concert, we feel like we have a path to a publisher partnership that can.”

Orion Strategies, a multi-state strategic communications and integrated marketing firm, is expanding its presence into West Virginia’s Eastern Panhandle with the opening of a Martinsburg office, according to the Martinsburg, West Virginia Journal.  Tiffany Lawrence, a former member of the West Virginia House of Delegates with a background in corporate, civic and governmental management, will lead Orion Strategies’ new location.

Fixation Marketing will move from Bethesda, Md, to Ballston, Va, on July 1. Fixation provides strategy and execution of integrated marketing campaigns for association trade shows, events and membership.
