The Grocery Manufacturers Association hired Roger Lowe as executive vice president of strategic communications. Lowe had served as senior vice president of communications at the American Red Cross and previously was a senior vice president at APCO Worldwide and Porter Novelli. Prior to working in public affairs, Lowe spent 21 years as a reporter for Ohio newspapers, with most of his career at the Columbus Dispatch as a statehouse reporter and Washington bureau chief, where he covered legislative issues, the Supreme Court and national politics.
Connect360 Multimedia hired Chris Galione as director of new business development. Galione has a 20-year track record in sales and new business development. Most recently, he held a sales director position for the American Association for the Advancement of Science. In the past, he worked with clients such as Subaru, Johnson &Johnson, Genentech, NASA, Canon, and Lockheed Martin; and held sales positions at A2Z Inc., Biotechnology Industry Organization and VNU Expositions.
August, Lang & Husak in Bethesda reports three promotions: Chuck Husak, the agency’s creative director, has been named the chief creative officer. Associate Creative Director Melissa Meyers has been promoted to creative director – just the second CD in the agency’s 23-year history. She joined the agency in 2010 as assistant art director. And, Bryant Prince has been promoted from assistant art director to art director.
