JPA Health Communications added Michael O’Brien as executive vice president and head of its D.C. office. O’Brien brings more than 20 years of experience in healthcare communications, advocacy and influencer relations to his leadership role. Prior to joining JPA, O’Brien was global head of corporate communications for MedImmune, the global biologics R&D arm of AstraZeneca. There he served on both the MedImmune executive leadership team and the AstraZeneca Global Corporate Affairs leadership team. O’Brien also was a senior vice president responsible for the healthcare business unit for IMRE, a national public relations firm.  He also worked as a vice president in the global healthcare practice of FleishmanHillard and was a partner at MGH, where he built and managed the public relations and social media divisions.

Nicole Mann, senior director of global public affairs at Teva Pharmaceuticals, joined Ketchum as senior vice president and director of corporate and public affairs in the firm’s D.C. office. Previously, she was a former senior director for Qorvis MSL and account manager for Waggener Edstrom.

PCIA – The Wireless Infrastructure Association announced that Roger Hughlett has been named communications director and will help the association showcase the vital role wireless infrastructure plays in many aspects of peoples’ lives – from public safety and health care to education and mobile entertainment. Most recently, Hughlett was content development manager for MicroPact, Inc., an enterprise software development firm. Hughlett is a former executive producer for the Washington Business Journal, as well as assistant managing editor, news editor and staff reporter covering technology and telecommunications issues. Before moving to Washington in 2003, he was technology reporter for the Baltimore Business Journal.
