Geoff Livingston has joined Capitol Communicator as Media Strategist. In this capacity, he will provide Capitol Communicator readers with his insights into the constantly-changing communications scene in the mid-Atlantic. Livingston also will work with Capitol Communicator to continue to diversify its media offerings, both online and with its events. (You can check out our “up close and personal” profile of Livingston in Insights.)
“Capitol Communicator has been a part of D.C.’s communications community for as long as I have been practicing. It has grown and evolved to encompass events. It uses a variety of vehicles to serve the community with intelligence, and this is something I, too, am committed too do. To be able to join Phil Rabin and Paul Duning and augment Capitol Communicator as it continues to grow is a great opportunity,” said Livingston.
A former journalist, Livingston continues to write, and has authored four books. Most recently, he published his first novel Exodus in 2013; co-authored Marketing in the Round; and wrote the social media primer Welcome to the Fifth Estate. Professionally, he founded Tenacity5 Media, a marketing consultancy serving companies and nonprofits. Prior to Tenacity5, he founded and sold Livingston Communications.
“We are excited to have Geoff join us. Geoff was an early adopter and practitioner of social media and has been a prolific blogger and speaker on emerging trends. His fresh perspective, skills and experience will help us deliver content that is critical to our ever-evolving communications community,” said Duning.
In addition, Rabin added, “Geoff is an excellent photographer and his photos will give us an added dimension in presenting material with the professionalism that great photos can bring to the stories we cover.”
Capitol Communicator is working to bring together the vast spectrum of communications professionals who influence and educate the Mid-Atlantic region and the world by providing news; trends; education; and opportunities for networking, career enhancement, business exchange and showcasing great work. It focuses on building a community that encompasses professions that include public relations, advertising, marketing, media, creative, video, photography, printing, digital and the multitude of other professions that support this region’s multi-billion-dollar communications industry.
