Golin Hires Neal Flieger as Managing Director of its D.C., Richmond and Baltimore Offices

Golin has hired Neal Flieger as managing director of the agency’s D.C., Richmond and Baltimore offices. In addition, Flieger will play a key leadership role for the agency as executive director, client strategy. He will be responsible for business development in the D.C. area, while developing planning tools and processes to help clients and account teams land on effective strategies and powerful creative platforms.

Flieger has held a number of leadership positions over his 20-year tenure at his former agency, Edelman, including leading its full-service research firm, StrategyOne. He has managed public affairs, led corporate reputation work, supported anti-trust efforts, developed stakeholder relationships, driven measurement, championed creative and led messaging for a number of companies including, Samsung, Walmart, PepsiCo, Anheuser-Busch, Microsoft, Monsanto, VISA, GE, Yum Brands and Starbucks. In addition, his previous government work included clients such as the US Department of Commerce, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Prior to his time at Edelman, Flieger served with the Clinton administration as deputy administrator of the USDA’s Food and Consumer Service agency and as the director of communications for the House Select Committee on Hunger. He also served on Democratic presidential campaigns for Clinton, Dukakis and Tsongas.
