HEROES, Inc.® has rolled out a regional PSA campaign to coincide with the 15th Anniversary of 9/11, in hopes it will encourage our community to remember and honor the families of first responders who fall in the line of duty. Created by MDB Communications in Washington, D.C., the out-of-home public service campaign puts a spotlight on the little-known, 52-year-old nonprofit.
HEROES is derived from the slogan Honor Every Responsible Officer’s Eternal Sacrifice®. Consistent with this is a sense of humility that has kept this organization out of the public eye. Over the past five decades, HEROES Inc., has provided financial and emotional support to nearly 200 families. In addition, more than 200 hundred sons and daughters have attended college with the help of the HEROES® Scholarship Program.
According to a release, “HEROES, Inc. was founded by the late philanthropist and parking lot baron Leonard B. “Bud” Doggett, Jr. In 1964, Bud created an organization that looked after the families of law enforcement officers, firefighters and other first responders who fall in the line of duty in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan region.”
Several media companies in the region are supporting this tribute with out-of-home advertising space throughout the D.C. region to help create awareness for HEROES, Inc. in the coming months.
