Ironmark, an image company based near Columbia, Maryland, is expanding its digital print production with its investment in a new HP Indigo 100K digital press, the first of its kind in the Mid-Atlantic region.
HP touts the Indigo 100K as “the world’s most productive B2 digital solution.” It can print between 2,250-6,000 sheets per hour, depending on the specifics of the job. This equates to 3.3X greater efficiency than a typical B2 offset press based on time savings, with as little as 2% waste. It all adds up to major efficiencies. The digital press is truly revolutionary, as described by the manufacturer.
According to an Ironmark release, the two main consideration factors for Ironmark’s investment in such advanced technology were speed and sheet size. The company produces such a high volume of digital print on a daily basis, which was all Series 3 before (13 x 19). Now, moving to a B2 format (20 x 29) and having the speed, they are able to be more efficient running on a larger sheet.
Ironmark’s president Matt Marzullo says, “as we set out to push the boundaries of advancements in commercial print technology, Ironmark’s investment in the HP Indigo 100K will enable us to offer clients unprecedented turnaround times, outstanding color quality, waste reduction, and excellent efficiency.”
As Ironmark now owns the only HP Indigo 100K in the Mid-Atlantic region, continues the release, potential clients and other commercial printing companies from all over the area are able to visit them and demo the new press, now fully in production.
For over 65 years, states the release, Ironmark has been an industry leader in print and communications services in the Mid-Atlantic region, providing clients with rock-solid partnerships that lead to creative, powerful results effectively and efficiently. The company specializes in creative design, digital and offset printing, large format print, event design, signage production and installation, promotional products, digital marketing, web development, e-commerce, and logistics solutions.
